Usually I always figure these out eventually, but this one's really got me stumped.
I remember watching a cartoon that used to come on really early on Saturday mornings. It was probably on at about 6:30 or so. I believe that this show was on Fox and it must have been around 1989 or 1990 or so.
I recall this particular cartoon being very strange. I remember that it was mostly characters in front of very sparse backgrounds. I don't remember there being any scenery at all.
I think there was a large cast of characters but I'm not sure. The one episode I remember had to do with crayons. The white crayon was sad because she never got used. One of the characters drew his favorate picture which was a polar bear playing a white piano in a snowstorm. The crayon then used the snow in the picture to take over the world or something like that. It seems like the show was mostly stuff like that.
I do remember seeing a few commercials for this show so it must have been part of the schedule. It seems like the show was named after a couple of its characters. Like it was The "somebody" and "somebody" Show. Does this ring a bell with anyone else? I've been trying to figure this one out for years.
This one's been bothering me for almost 20 years!

Sounds like Tomfoolery. I'd be more certain, but (a) I don't know it very well and (b) the time frame is wrong. That one was early '70s, but there could easily have been some reruns in 1989-90. Anyway, that's my guess. Anyone know different?

Oh man that is almost certainly it. I forgot to mention that it looked like it was from the early 70s. I've read about it online now that it certainly fits my description. It was modeled after laugh-in which explains why it confused me so much as a little kid. It definitely had a lot of weird, disjointed stuff in it. If anyone knows that it's actually something else you can still speak up, but I'm about ready to close the book on this 20 year old mystery.

Great! I'm glad I was able to help (for once).
